애플 `iOS5'

iOS에 포함된 아이클라우드, 아이메신저 등이 기존 서비스와 직간접적으로 충돌할 것으로 예상되기 때문에 iOS5 출시가 임박함에 따라 국내 IT 업계가 바짝 긴장하고 있다.

애플은 미국 현지 시간 12일(한국 시간 13일 새벽)에 iOS5를 배포할 예정이다. iOS5는 아이튠즈 10.5 버전을 통해 아이폰3GS, 아이폰4, 아이패드, 아이패드2, 아이팟터치(3세대 이후) 등에서 무료로 내려 받을 수 있다.

iOS5에서 가장 주목할 수 있는 분야는 클라우드 서비스인 아이클라우드다. 아이클라우드의 등장은 개인용 클라우드 서비스를 제공하는 네이버, 다음 등 포털 사이트와 통신 사업자들에게 직접적인 타격이 될 전망이라고 한다.

아이폰, 아이패드 사용자간에 무료로 메시지를 주고받을 수 있는 아이메시지 역시 국내 업체들의 경계 대상이다. 아이메시지는 무료 메시지의 대명사인 카카오톡을 비롯해 다음의 마이피플, NHN의 라인 등과 경쟁이 불가피해졌다.

iOS 5 Widget 'OmniStat' Gives You Information About Your iPhone, iPod Touch, & iPad - iOS Vlog 551


OmniStat is a tweak that is useful in multiple ways through the Notification Center. What is does is gives you information about your device that you might need sometimes like your IP address, available space, free memory, and even your UDID(with a copy button). You can also use some of the controls it offers like the Bluetooth, WIFI, Power, Reboot, and other toggles. Overall, for a free tweak it looks great and is pretty useful.
